## Job Description

**Commercial Associate Attorney**

### Job Summary

As a Commercial Associate Attorney you will be responsible for providing thorough and practical assessments and advice while advocating for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process. You will focus on continuous quality work product in a fast‑paced environment, maintain integrity, achieve results, and perform all phases of litigation—including preparing and signing pleadings, making court appearances, trial chairing, communication with clients and opposing counsel, and implementing judgment collection strategies.

### Responsibilities

- Provide thorough assessments and advice while advocating for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process.

- Prepare and sign pleadings for all phases of litigation.

- Make court appearances throughout the litigation lifecycle, including first chairing any trials that may arise.

- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with clients, opposing counsel, parties, and court staff.

- Implement strategies to collect on judgments, including garnishments, depositions, and repossession.

- Provide guidance and training to administrative staff.

- Conduct legal research required to make successful arguments and recommendations.

- Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.

- Document account/file activity per firm and client policies.

- Travel to various courts in the state and handle all aspects of litigation life cycle.

- Attend continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to remain current.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

### Qualifications

- 1‑7 years of commercial litigation experience, preferably in creditors’ rights and collections (not required).

- Membership in the California State Bar.

- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.

- Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.

- J.D. from an accredited law school.

- Strong collaboration and resource utilization skills.

- Superior time‑management and prioritization skills.

- Leadership skills and ability to motivate others.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Decision making, communication, judgment & problem solving, compliance & discipline, ethics & integrity (20% each).

### Travel

This position may require some travel to courts. Travel excludes local intra‑office commute.
