The Opportunity
This position serves as the financial operations leader for the organization.

Rather than replacing our outside CPA, you will work alongside them by owning the day‑to‑day accounting function and ensuring our financial information is timely, accurate, and actionable.

You will become a trusted resource for ownership by helping answer important business questions such as:

Which projects are performing best?

Where are labor costs trending?

What does our cash flow look like over the next 90 days?

Which projects require financial attention?

How can our accounting processes continue to improve as the company grows?

This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence how financial operations are managed throughout the company.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Construction Accounting

Maintain accurate project job costing.

Prepare and monitor Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) schedules.

Track project profitability and forecast cost‑to‑complete.

Monitor contract values and change orders.

Analyze labor and equipment costs.

Assist project managers with project financial reporting.

Financial Operations

Manage accounts payable and vendor payments.

Manage accounts receivable and collections.

Prepare monthly financial statements.

Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts.

Maintain fixed asset schedules.

Assist with budgeting and rolling cash flow forecasts.

Support annual audits and tax preparation.

Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting systems.

Payroll & Union Administration
Payroll processing is completed through ADP.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing payroll for accuracy prior to processing.

Coordinating payroll submissions with ADP.

Reviewing union wage rates and classifications.

Monitoring certified payroll requirements.

Preparing or reviewing fringe benefit remittances.

Coordinating reciprocity reporting.

Reviewing multi‑state payroll tax compliance.

Ensuring labor costs are accurately allocated to projects.

Executive Reporting
Prepare meaningful financial reporting for ownership, including:

Weekly cash position

13‑week cash flow forecast

Job profitability analysis

Accounts receivable aging

Accounts payable aging

Labor cost reporting

Budget versus actual reporting

Monthly financial statements

Executive financial dashboards

What We’re Looking For

Five or more years of commercial construction accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of job costing and Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reporting.

Experience with percentage‑of‑completion accounting.

Union contractor accounting experience.

Multi‑state payroll and construction accounting experience.

Working knowledge of certified payroll requirements.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience with construction accounting software such as QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage300CRE, Vista by Viewpoint, Foundation, or similar platforms.

The Ideal Candidate
You are someone who:

Takes ownership and follows through.

Notices the details others miss.

Enjoys creating efficient systems and improving processes.

Communicates effectively with both field and office personnel.

Is analytical, organized, and dependable.

Wants to help build a growing company instead of simply maintaining the accounting function.

What We Offer

Competitive salary of $95,000–$130,000 , based on experience.

Performance‑based bonus opportunity.

Health insurance.

401(k) retirement plan.

Paid vacation and holidays.

Hybrid work flexibility.

Professional development opportunities.

A collaborative, family‑oriented culture where your work directly impacts the company's success.

Why MVP Erectors?
At MVP Erectors, we believe exceptional companies are built by exceptional people.

We value integrity, accountability, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and teamwork. Every employee plays an important role in our success, and we empower our team members to take ownership, solve problems, and contribute ideas that make our company stronger.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to become a trusted financial leader within a respected and growing specialty contractor, we’d welcome the opportunity to learn more about you.

Join MVP Erectors and help build the financial foundation that supports the next chapter of our company's growth.
