Join us at Mercy Health Albury, a 30-bed subacute hospital in southern New South Wales offering aged care assessment, day therapy programs, allied health, healthy ageing, geriatric evaluation management, and palliative care.
About The Role- Our Geriatric Evaluation & Management Unit (GEM) is a 20-bed unit.
- Permanent full-time, part-time, and casual hours available.
- Provide quality patient-focused and clinical care utilizing a person-centered approach.
- Take an active role in getting to know our patients and their families.
- Administer medications to patients following professional standards and correct procedures.
- Undertake assessments, treatment, and documentation to the highest standard.
Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.
- Experience working with older persons.
- Recent experience in medication administration.
- Current Immunisation against listed diseases as per NSW Health Policy Directive (category A Risk Position).
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge.
- Understanding of person-centred care and ability to work in a team environment.
Additional requirements include:
- Evidence or ongoing process of obtaining a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination certificate, influenza vaccination, and other vaccinations as per public health orders.

Minimum Requirements- Current Authority to Practice as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.
- Ability to practice according to the Enrolled Nursing Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses.
- Effective clinical communication skills, including IT proficiency and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of patient-centered care and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload effectively within scope of practice.
- Recent relevant clinical experience and medication administration within scope of practice.
