Finance Manager Homebuilder & Real Estate Development 
**Location:** Houston, Texas

A well-established residential homebuilder and real estate development company is seeking an experienced **Finance Manager** to serve as a strategic financial partner to executive leadership.

This is a highly visible position working directly with the company's Board of Directors on financing strategies, new developments, acquisitions, capital planning, and the overall financial performance of the business. The Opportunity 
As Finance Manager, you will oversee the company's financial operations while partnering closely with ownership and executive leadership on strategic initiatives. Responsibilities extend well beyond monthly financial reporting and include evaluating new development opportunities, securing project financing, managing lender relationships, forecasting cash flow, supporting acquisitions, and providing financial guidance throughout the development lifecycle.

Strong homebuilding finance leaders increasingly serve as business advisors, helping leadership evaluate land opportunities, capital needs, forecasting, and risknot just producing financial statements.

Responsibilities 

- Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors on strategic financial initiatives.

- Evaluate financing options for new developments, acquisitions, and completed projects.

- Coordinate construction and permanent financing with lending institutions.

- Build and maintain strong banking and lender relationships.

- Analyze project feasibility, financial assumptions, and investment opportunities.

- Develop and maintain investment and financial models.

- Prepare financial forecasts, annual budgets, and cash flow projections.

- Monitor debt portfolio performance and financing activities.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Oversee accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting.

- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and overall financial performance.

- Coordinate annual audits and work with external CPA firms.

- Prepare financial presentations and reporting for executive leadership and the Board.

- Identify financial risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them.

Qualifications 

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Five or more years of experience as a Finance Manager, Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar financial leadership role.

- Experience within homebuilding, residential construction, real estate development, commercial construction, or a related industry is highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

- Experience working with banks, lenders, or construction financing is highly desirable.

- Knowledge of investment analysis and financial modeling.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership.

- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

- CPA designation is a plus but not required.

- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
