This is not a desk-only management role. Recommend tooling improvements to increase mold reliability, performance, and tool life. Provide technical guidance and direction to Mold Makers and Tool Room personnel. Partner with Process Technicians, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production to resolve tooling issues. Help prioritize Tool Room projects and tooling support needs. Qualifications 10+ years of hands-on injection mold making or injection mold tooling experience. building, repairing, maintaining, modifying, and troubleshooting injection molds Strong understanding of mold construction, components, fitting, shutoffs, parting lines, cooling, venting, ejection systems, and preventive maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot mold-related performance and part-quality issues. Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge. CNC machining, EDM, milling, grinding, and turning hands-on with tooling and troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills. 55-ton to 300-ton presses commercial and engineering-grade thermoplastic resins Hot runner systems and complex injection mold tooling. New mold builds and coordination with outside tool shops. Mold trials, validation, qualification, and new product introduction. Tool & Die, Mold Making, Journeyman, or Apprenticeship certification.
