IT EngineerWarrenpoint £40,000 - £42,000 + On-Call Allowance Full-Time PermanentMCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading international logistics business to recruit an IT Engineer for their Warrenpoint operation.This is not your typical IT support role. If you enjoy getting out from behind a desk, solving technical problems in a fast-paced environment, and working across a wide variety of technologies, this could be the opportunity you're looking for.You'll play a key role supporting both the Warrenpoint terminal and company vessels, providing hands-on IT support across infrastructure, networking, CCTV, access control systems and end-user technology.The RoleAs an IT Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical IT systems that keep terminal and vessel operations running smoothly.Your responsibilities will include:Providing onsite and remote IT support across UK and Irish operationsInstalling and maintaining wireless and network infrastructureSupporting PCs, laptops and associated hardwareTroubleshooting software and bespoke business systemsInstalling, configuring and maintaining CCTV and access control systemsSupporting IT systems onboard company vesselsMonitoring and responding to Helpdesk requestsManaging IT hardware stock and assisting with procurementLiaising with suppliers and contractorsParticipating in IT projects and continuous improvement initiativesProviding out-of-hours support as part of an on-call rotaFollowing health and safety procedures while working in industrial environmentsAbout YouWe're looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on technical work and isn't afraid of a challenge.You'll ideally have:Previous experience in an IT Support Engineer, Field Service Engineer or similar hands-on technical roleExperience supporting network infrastructure and wireless technologiesExperience working with CCTV and/or access control systemsStrong troubleshooting skills across hardware and softwareExcellent communication and customer service skillsThe ability to prioritise workloads and work independentlyExperience within industrial, manufacturing, logistics, ports or similar environments would be highly advantageous, although candidates from more traditional IT support backgrounds who are keen to work in a hands-on environment are also encouraged to apply.Important to KnowThis role is fully site-based and involves working in a busy operational environment.The successful candidate must be comfortable with:Working at height, including the use of cherry pickersWorking onboard vesselsClimbing stairs and accessing equipment in operational areasWorking outdoors in varying weather conditionsParticipating in a 24/7 on-call rota (typically one week in every four)Appropriate training and safety procedures will be provided.What's on OfferSalary of £40,000 - £42,000Paid on-call allowance plus additional hourly call-out payments20 days annual leaveCompany pension schemeEnhanced sick pay after 12 months' service40-hour working weekExposure to a diverse range of technologies and infrastructureA varied, hands-on role where no two days are the sameOpportunity to work across both terminal and vessel environmentsRecruitment ProcessThe interview process consists of two stages:Microsoft Teams interview with HR and the IT Manager.Site tour of the Warrenpoint terminal, followed by a meeting with the Regional Head of IT.The client is looking to appoint quickly, so early applications are encouraged.To speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity please send an up-to-date CV via the link provided or contact Senior Recruitment Consultant Stuart Kennedy at MCS Group on or .Even if this position is not right for you, we may have others that are.
