**Location:** Kansas City, MO (Hybrid)

**About the Opportunity**

A well-established MEP design firm is expanding its **Kansas City office** and seeking a **Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE)** to lead projects across commercial, education, healthcare, aviation, and civic markets. This is a leadership-track position with opportunities to mentor others, manage clients, and shape high-performance building systems from concept through construction.

**Responsibilities**

- Design HVAC, hydronic, and plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and life-cycle cost analysis.
- Create construction drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure cohesive design solutions.
- Review submittals, answer RFIs, and support field observations.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide quality assurance on design deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, IMC, and local building codes.

**Qualifications**

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (MO or KS preferred).
- 8–15 years of mechanical design experience with MEP or consulting firms.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load analysis software (Trane Trace, Carrier HAP).
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable design, LEED guidelines, and energy codes preferred.
