## Job Description

**Job Title: Project Manager**

**Organisation:** Janani Family Care Pvt Ltd

**Location:** New Delhi (with travel across Tamil Nadu, Mumbai, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan)

**Contract type:** Fixed-term, 3 years (with possibility of extension)

**Reports to:** CEO Janani Family Care

**About the Project**

The project is a three-year project to enhance access to hormonal long-acting reversible contraceptives through the private sector in six Indian states. The project focuses on healthcare provider training, medical detailing and marketing to enhance the access to hormonal implants and IUDs as part of a basket of contraceptive choices.

 

**Role Summary**

The Project Manager is the operational lead for the project across all six states. They are responsible for ensuring the project outputs and milestones are delivered on time and to budget, coordinating between project partners, ensuring delivery against workplans and milestones, managing the project budget, leading on reporting and compliance, and ensuring integration of the project within the broader work of the business. The role requires someone equally comfortable with sales and marketing and public health.

 

**Key Responsibilities**

**Project Management & Coordination**

·      Lead annual and quarterly workplanning to ensure alignment of activities and deliverables among project partners in all six states

·      Work closely with project partners ensuring workplans are executed on time and to budget to meet project deliverables and milestones

·      Coordinate meetings between project partners at national and state levels to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks

·      Maintain a master project tracker covering all project activities, deliverables and financials and produce progress reports

·      Maintain a mapping of key stakeholders and influencers and ensure they are kept informed of the project rollout as required

·      Prepare and submit narrative and financial reports as required

**Medical Detailing & Sales Operations**

·      Work with Janani Family Care’s sales teams to integrate project deliverables into sales team plans, ensuring primary and secondary sales targets are achieved

·      Ensure that sales teams work closely with clinical trainers to ensure healthcare providers experience seamless integration between sales and training

·      Monitor medical representative performance against key sales metrics and work with sales and training team leadership to address shortfalls or deviation

·      Identify bottlenecks to sales performance and work with sales team managers to address these

 

**Marketing & Demand Generation**

·      Work with the marketing team and media agency to ensure marketing planning is comprehensive and aligned with the project deliverables

·      Monitor execution of the marketing plan ensuring visuals and messaging are on-goal, and deliverables are achieved on time and to budget

·      Work with sales and marketing teams to develop attractive sales packages, sampling, discounts and other trade promotions to encourage trial and purchasing.

·      Coordinate Janani Family Care’s active engagement with relevant private professional healthcare associations (FOGSI, IMA etc) and ensure participation in national and state conferences and trade shows to drive product awareness and ultimately uptake.

·      Ensure branding and behavior-change activities are implemented consistently across all states and on all project media channels.

**Supply, Procurement & Pricing**

·      Track commodity procurement, distribution, and stock positions across all states and flag supply risks early

·      Monitor consumer pricing and work with providers and partners to ensure end user pricing is affordable

·      Engage with the procurement team and suppliers to ensure consistent supplies and ensure manufacturer relationships are leveraged towards achieving project deliverables

**Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning**

·      Develop and maintain the project's MEL framework in line with the project contract and deliverables ensure data is collected, shared, analyzed and discussed, and that corrective action is taken wherever outputs fall short of deliverables

·      Produce quarterly data reviews; use findings to adapt implementation as needed

·      Contribute to documentation of lessons learned for internal and external review

**Budget Management**

·      Manage the full project budget in close coordination with finance teams and project partners

·      Identify and communicate budget variances promptly; propose and implement corrective actions

 

**Risk and compliance**

·      Ensure that all project activities are in compliance with India’s laws, rules and regulations, and with international standards of best practices

·      Manage the project's compliance obligations, identifying, flagging, and mitigating compliance risks

 

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Essential**

·      Master’s degree in business and / or project management or a related field. Alternatively a Bachelors degree with significant field experience in these fields

·      At least 8 years experience managing similar private sector multi-state, multi-partner projects in India

·      Strong planning, coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills

·      Strong financial, data management and reporting skills

·      Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi

·      Willingness to travel regularly across all six project states

**Desirable**

·      Familiarity with family planning, reproductive health, or pharmaceutical/medical device markets in India

·      Experience working with healthcare providers, particularly from a capacity development and / or sales and marketing perspective

·      Understanding of Indian regulatory frameworks for medical devices or pharmaceuticals as well as working with healthcare professionals
