## Job Description

### About the Opportunity

- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll. Perform payroll review functions as needed. Audit, research and resolve payroll discrepancies.

- Process hourly and salary US payroll and salary Canadian payroll on a semi-monthly or bi-weekly payroll cycle.

- Perform audits of employee records to ensure tax compliance and ensure new employees are set up correctly.

- Review and resolve payroll tax compliance notices.

- Collaborate with other team members and other departments to identify and drive process improvements. Including testing of system enhancements.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.

- Maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy of Payroll/HR files, records, and documentation.

- Provide excellent service to internal employees seeking clarification on payroll related inquiries.

- Assist with any reporting inquiries requested by the broader accounting and finance team.

- Partner with other managers and departments on the needed information to process payroll.

### About You

- 6+ years of Payroll experience preferred.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Proficient Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook

- Experience with multiple Payroll and HRIS Systems such as ADP, Ceridian, QuickBooks Payroll etc.

- Completion of a Payroll designation a strong asset

### Pay Range

$33 - $45 /hour

This position for employment is for a current vacancy with Vaco/Highspring’s client.

You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.

Reporting to the Development Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for the full cycle accounting duties of the properties under development. This role will be an integral part of the Development Accounting team and is a key business partner to the development and construction group to deliver project level accounting, financial reporting, and budget monitoring for all development projects.
