The Norris Group is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Reviewer to join our growing tax and advisory practice. This is a senior-level role for a CPA who has significant public accounting experience and is comfortable serving as the final reviewer and quality-control authority on tax engagements. Unlike a traditional tax preparation role, this position allows you to focus your experience where it adds the most value: reviewing complex returns, identifying planning opportunities, advising clients and staff, and helping ensure the technical quality of the firm's tax work. This is a hybrid position with work location flexibility. However, fully remote may be available for qualified candidates who live outside of a reasonable commuting area. What You'll Do Serve as the final technical reviewer for individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and other tax returns Review and approve returns before client delivery and filing Identify tax planning opportunities, potential compliance risks, and technical issues Guide tax preparers and other team members on complex tax matters Research and interpret federal, state, local, and multi-state tax laws and regulations Participate in client consultations regarding tax strategies, planning opportunities, and business needs Assist clients with IRS and state notices, audits, and tax authority inquiries Mentor and support tax preparers and junior professionals Stay current on tax law developments and translate changes into practical solutions for clients Help strengthen the firm's tax review processes and overall quality standards What We're Looking For Active CPA license required 5+ years of tax experience within public accounting Significant experience reviewing complex tax returns Prior responsibility for final review and sign-off Strong working knowledge of Forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S, and 1065 Experience with individual and business tax planning Strong understanding of federal, state, and multi-state taxation Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to clients and colleagues Experience advising or consulting directly with clients Strong judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills Experience with CCH, UltraTax, ProSeries, or comparable professional tax software Benefits include: Fully remote or hybrid environment Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) 401(k) company match Paid time off Competitive compensation Who Will Thrive in This Role?
