Job Description Gillmann Services is looking for an experienced **Sheet Metal Lead Fabricator** to oversee and perform sheet metal fabrication operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The Lead Fabricator will work hands-on in the shop, provide direction to other fabricators, and ensure finished products meet customer specifications and quality standards.

- Must be able to travel up to 50-75%. Travel may be up to 2-week increments. $50/per day perdiem for overnights.

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate daily sheet metal fabrication activities.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Measure, lay out, cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal components.
- Operate fabrication equipment including shears, brakes, plasma cutters, saws, punches, and other shop machinery.
- Verify dimensions and finished products for accuracy and quality.
- Train, mentor, and provide direction to less-experienced fabricators.
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and determine the best method to complete projects.
- Maintain production schedules and communicate progress to management.
- Ensure materials are properly identified, organized, and prepared for fabrication.
- Work closely with installers, project managers, and supervisors when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Perform other duties related to sheet metal fabrication as needed.

Qualifications

- 3+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
- Proficient with measurements and tape measures.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift materials and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with commercial or industrial sheet metal fabrication.
- Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized, and mild steel.
- Welding or brazing experience is a plus.
- CNC or computerized fabrication equipment experience is a plus.
- Experience with ductwork, architectural metal, or custom sheet metal is a plus
