## Job Description

Technical Video Specialist – Live Events

We’re working with a leading global live events and production business looking to add an experienced Technical Video Specialist to its team.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone with strong expertise across video systems for live events, from pre-production and system design through to onsite installation, operation and delivery.

You’ll work across small to large-scale productions, taking ownership of complex video solutions while also leading and supporting onsite technical teams.

The Role

- Design and implement video systems alongside Project Managers and Producers, ensuring solutions meet each event brief.

- Support pre-production planning, including media server and switching workflows.

- Produce and maintain accurate technical drawings, plans and schematics using Vectorworks.

- Operate advanced switching systems for large-scale events, including Barco E2/S3 and linked switcher configurations.

- Plan, design and install multi-blended projection systems using Barco, Christie and Panasonic projectors and associated software.

- Design and lead complex multi-screen LED display builds, including multiple processor configurations.

- Lead video delivery onsite, delegating effectively across technical teams and ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time.

- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly during live events and maintain consistently high production standards.

- Supervise and direct technicians across pre-event, live event and post-event activity.

- Work closely with internal teams, venues and clients to deliver the best possible technical solution and event experience.

- Mentor and coach other team members, helping develop technical and leadership capability across the wider team.

- Support equipment preparation, maintenance, transportation, storage, inventory and forecasting.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

- 4+ years’ hands-on field experience within professional video / live event production.

- Strong knowledge of advanced video switching, projection and LED systems.

- Practical experience with Barco E2/S3, large-scale projection and complex LED builds.

- Experience creating or working from technical drawings and schematics, ideally using Vectorworks.

- The ability to lead technical teams onsite and confidently delegate across complex productions.

- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain composed in a live event environment.

- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

- A strong understanding of health & safety and equipment security within live production environments.

- Previous customer service or hospitality experience would be beneficial.

What’s On Offer

Alongside a salary of up to £48,000 depending on experience, you’ll have access to private healthcare after 12 months, enhanced family leave, company sick pay, employee assistance and recognition schemes, a clearly defined career path, state-of-the-art technology and opportunities within a global organisation.

If you’re an experienced video specialist looking to take ownership of technically ambitious live events while continuing to develop within a major production environment, apply to find out more.
