A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide exceptional educational support in a school setting. This contract position is located in Newark, DE, offering a chance to work closely with students who have unique communication needs and to foster their academic and social development. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to the needs of students with hearing impairments.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and families to support student learning and communication. Utilize specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies to enhance accessibility. Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Advocate for students' needs within the school environment and community. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and reports in compliance with educational standards. Qualifications: Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
Experience working with students who have hearing impairments in an educational setting. Strong knowledge of auditory-oral and sign language communication methods. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
