Summary: Assembles and/or modifies electronic components, subassemblies and systems by following specific instructions.

Assists in working with other less experienced assemblers. Responsibilities: * Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs * Identifies by sight workmanship and material defects in touch-up and assembly areas and may be able to suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations in these areas *Performs tasks with a high degree of care and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment * Assembles electronic components, assemblies, and modules by working from samples, visual aids, wiring lists and process sheets * Maintains accurate material control within the work area * Performs inspection of own work in immediate working unit * Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering, as appropriate * Follows and maintains accurate process documentation * Assemble PCBs of an intermediate complexity * May use a variety of tools to perform tasks * Serve as a mentor to lesser skilled employees Other information: * High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 years of experience in hardware and/or simple optics assembly type activities * Ability to read, write and perform basic math * Ability to use hand tools and associated devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies * Ability to learn and master all tasks associated with PCB assembly that are assigned * Ability to identify electronic components * Ability to identify solder non-conformance and correct them * Effective communication, both verbal and written * Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions * Ability to work with and around chemicals used in the PCB manufacturing process * Ability to work overtime as needed * Ability to obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and willingness to cross-train in other areas * Participate in a continuous improvement activity This position is classified as safety-sensitive because impairment while performing job duties could pose a significant risk of harm. Where permitted by applicable law or required by federal regulation, Benchmark will conduct a pre-employment drug screen, which may include testing for THC.

In jurisdictions that restrict pre-employment cannabis testing or prohibit action based solely on non-psychoactive cannabis metabolites, Benchmark will comply with local requirements. Benchmark maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace and may conduct reasonable-suspicion and post-incident testing in accordance with applicable law.
