Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and have experience with various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Accountant will also play a key role in financial analysis and reporting, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Conduct financial report writing and interpretation to assist management in decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and applicable securities law.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy in payroll records.
- Provide mentoring to junior accounting staff as needed.
- Collaborate on auditing processes to ensure adherence to financial regulations.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero for efficient financial management.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and provide insights for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of journal entries and perform double entry bookkeeping.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting practices, including non-profit accounting and governmental accounting.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as accrual accounting and financial services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with tax preparation and regulatory reporting is a plus.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings clearly.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the team.
- Prior experience in public accounting or private equity is advantageous.
