Responsibilities
  • Manage daily accounting operations for the Spain entity, including posting transactions, month-end closing, reporting, and coordinating audits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial records in accordance with Austrian Law on Accounting and Spain GAAP.
  • Serve as the primary accountant for the Spain entity, liaising with local accounting and tax advisors.
  • Oversee payroll processing, including salary calculations, tax and social contributions, and employee support.
  • Prepare financial statements and ensure timely submission of the Annual Financial Statements to the SRC.
  • Handle tax filings such as VAT, corporate income tax, PIT, and social contributions.
  • Maintain compliance with local tax and financial regulations, documenting for audits or inspections.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor and implement updates on Spain tax, labor, and accounting legislation.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping for a company operating in Spain.
  • Proven experience with payroll and employee tax calculations in Spain.
  • Strong knowledge of Spain GAAP, local tax laws, and statutory reporting.
  • Experience preparing reports for Spain regulatory bodies, including VAT, profit tax, PIT, and social fund declarations.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Highly autonomous, transparent, proactive, and ownership-driven.
