Job Responsibilities:
GST Filing and Compliance:
- Prepare and file GST returns on a regular basis, adhering to the prescribed deadlines.
- Review and verify GST-related documents, invoices, and receipts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor changes in GST regulations and communicate the implications to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve any GST-related queries or issues promptly.
Employee Payroll Management:
- Oversee the entire payroll process, including salary calculations, deductions, reimbursements, and tax withholding.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Handle payroll tax deductions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
Bookkeeping and Financial Records:
- Accurately record financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain general ledger entries, ensuring that all financial activities are appropriately documented.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts regularly.
- Generate financial reports and statements, providing insights to management on financial performance.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports required for audits and statutory compliance.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Indian accounting and tax regulations.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation and information as required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and insights for decision-making.
- Work closely with the finance team to streamline processes and improve overall financial efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant with expertise in GST filing, payroll management, and bookkeeping in an Indian context.
- Thorough understanding of Indian accounting principles, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
