Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced
AS400 L3 Administrator
with over 10 years of hands-on experience managing IBM iSeries (AS/400) environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and support of AS400 systems, including handling high-severity incidents and leading root cause analysis for major issues. This role involves working closely with application teams, DBAs, and other infrastructure teams to ensure seamless system performance and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 3 support for AS400/iSeries systems and resolve complex technical issues.
- Manage system performance, tuning, and capacity planning.
- Perform system upgrades, PTF installations, and OS version management.
- Perform and validate full system backups, disaster recovery testing, and IPLs.
- Manage and monitor system security, user administration, and auditing.
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-level issues independently.
- Implement and support high availability and business continuity solutions.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for change management and deployments.
- Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and handle critical issues after hours.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in AS400/iSeries system administration.
- Strong expertise in IBM i OS (AS/400, iSeries) environment.
- Deep understanding of CL programming, job scheduling (Robot/Scheduler or equivalent), and system automation.
- Experience with security and compliance best practices on AS400.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures, backup solutions, and replication technologies.
- Familiarity with tools like BRMS, HMC, VIOS, and remote system management.
- Good knowledge of storage management, system journaling, and subsystems.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

- Experience with OS upgrade, power migration Power9 to Power10 systems, and power HA/mimix DR drill
