We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our highly supportive team and be part of our growth journey.
About the Role
The Assistant Accountant will be part of a highly motivated team whose key focus will be to assist our Senior Accountant by providing clerical support with tax returns for our clients.
This role is for someone who is a recent accounting or finance graduate and has some foundation knowledge around taxation accounting and bookkeeping. You will have strong administrative skills to be able to collect accurate information and obtain any outstanding documentation from our clients. Additionally, you must have good customer service skills to be able to resolve any questions or concerns that clients may have regarding their tax return application.

Main Responsibilities
End to end preparation of reports, financial statements, bookkeeping, tax returns and BAS for individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts and partnerships
Assisting with establishment of SMSFs and preparation of SMSF tax returns and audit
Preparing invoices and processing accounts payable and receivable
Assisting with liaising with various authorities on behalf of individuals and clients including the ATO and ASIC
Working closely with line manager and clients to ensure work is completed within the allowed time frame
Assisting with other accounting tasks
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
At least 1 year’s experience in accounting and bookkeeping role, in financial services industry preferred
Good practical knowledge in bookkeeping, reconciliation, and taxation
Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office
Exceptional customer service skills
High attention to detail
Excellent written and professional verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and an aptitude to learn and develop
Time management and organisational skills
