About the Role
U.S. Polo Assn., an iconic American lifestyle brand, is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented
Assistant Designer
to join our Menswear Design team. The ideal candidate will bring strong creative sensibility, technical understanding of knits, and an ability to interpret global trends into brand-relevant collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Design team in seasonal range development for
Men's Knits
– tees, polos, sweatshirts, and other knit categories. - Research global trends, fabrics, washes, and trims aligned to brand DNA and target consumer.
- Assist in
concept board creation, colour palette development, and fabric/trim selection
. - Prepare detailed
tech packs, CADs, and artwork layouts
for sampling and production. - Coordinate with vendors, sampling, and merchandising teams to ensure timely development of prototypes.
- Maintain and update design archives, seasonal line sheets, and presentation boards.
- Participate in range reviews and contribute creative inputs for product differentiation and innovation.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education:
Graduate from
NIFT
or equivalent fashion/design institute. - Experience:
2–5 years in
menswear knitwear design
(preferably in casualwear or lifestyle brands). - Strong proficiency in
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and AI tools - Good understanding of
fabric structures, knit constructions, and surface treatments
. - Excellent sense of colour, proportion, and detail.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a fast-paced team.
