We’ve just closed our Series B funding round and are scaling globally. This presents a great opportunity for a driven Backend Engineer to join our Engineering team.
This role is ideal for an experienced, delivery-focused leader who can help shape our company culture as we transition from start-up to scale-up.
We seek someone who has owned projects from inception through post-release, with familiarity in observability, product metrics, and maintainability.
On a daily basis, you will work hands-on within a product team, leading feature development, mentoring engineers, reviewing code and documentation, and promoting initiatives to enhance our code quality, maintainability, and development experience.
We have a Backend guild with members from all product teams to guide the architectural evolution of our services. You may have the opportunity to be one of the guild leaders, reviewing proposals from other members.
About You- High ownership and accountability for projects.
- Excellent communication skills in a remote-first environment.
- Experience with big data, streaming, and real-time data frameworks, including architectural design and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, AWS Redshift, WebSockets).
- Practical knowledge of modern software engineering practices (version control, CI/CD, testing, observability, documentation), with experience working with tools like GitHub, Test Containers, Datadog.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, deploying using CircleCI and CDK.
- Strong command of Java/Kotlin, with comfort working within this stack.
- Experience with other backend technologies such as Typescript, Python, or Scala.
- Knowledge of graph databases like Neo4J with large datasets.
- Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers for service communication.
