Job description & requirements

Airlearn is seeking a Book Designer (Contract) to collaborate with our content and curriculum teams in designing visually appealing and pedagogically effective digital and print-ready book layouts. The ideal candidate will have experience in educational publishing, a strong sense of typography, layout balance, and visual hierarchy, and the ability to translate complex content into clear, learner-friendly visual formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Design textbooks, learner guides, and workbooks aligned with Airlearn’s visual and pedagogical standards.
- Develop clean, engaging layouts for language and academic content, ensuring readability and visual flow.
- Collaborate closely with content writers, illustrators, and editors to create cohesive visual experiences.
- Prepare print-ready and digital files (PDF, EPUB, etc.) following design and production specifications.
- Maintain consistency in design language, fonts, and color palette across book projects.
- Implement feedback efficiently to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Book Designer, Layout Artist, or Graphic Designer in publishing or educational content.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (knowledge of Figma is a plus).
- Strong understanding of typesetting, margins, spacing, and typography.
- Experience working with bilingual or multilingual layouts is highly preferred.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Availability to collaborate remotely with Airlearn’s design and content teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience in K–12, NEET, or language learning content design.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms or interactive e-books.
- Understanding of UX principles for readability and learner engagement.
