Job description & requirements

The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading and managing the companys business development efforts and coordinating the business development team. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new sales channels creating new business opportunities and managing and growing existing partner relationships and businesses. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Water Treatment Technologies & / or Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions success in business development as well as strong leadership and management skills.

The responsibilities also cover the management and supervision of the complete quotation process involving different stakeholders such as product managers C&I CAD supply chain and manufacturing project managers. The business development team is also responsible for the opportunity pipeline management through CRM tools which allows efficient manufacturing planning.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the business development team
  • Develop and implement business development strategies
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and partners
  • Lead quotation process and negotiate and close deals
  • Manage and grow existing customer relationships
  • Forecast sales and revenue
  • Develop and manage the business development budget
  • Track and report on business development activities
  • Stay uptodate on industry trends and developments
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of professional contacts
  • Working closely with the marketing team active implication in the product roadmap

Management :

  • Ensure the role of reference in the commercial field
  • Supervise and manage your team
  • Distribute and plan missions between the different people in the department
  • Set objectives and evaluate performance at the collective and individual level of your team
  • Develop the skills of your employees

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or related field
  • Knowledge of water treatment and engineering methods
  • 5 years of experience in business development
  • Proven track record of success in identifying and closing new business opportunities
  • Transversal skills with strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Mastery of the B to B commercial negotiation process
  • Mastery of commercial techniques and knowledge of marketing techniques
  • Mastery of contractual management and associated legal aspects
  • Fluency in oral and written English
