My client is seeking a skilled and driven
CapEx Electrical Engineer
to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of capital projects in a heavy industrial facility. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems that support large-scale manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial power distribution, project management, and the execution of electrical projects from concept through startup.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering aspects of
capital projects
, including scoping, budgeting, design, and execution. - Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates for electrical systems upgrades and installations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
- Provide technical expertise on
power distribution systems (480V–15kV), motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems
. - Ensure all projects comply with
NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and plant safety standards
. - Oversee installation, commissioning, and startup of new electrical equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during project execution.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and recommending solutions to enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and performance.
- Prepare project documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, and test procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required. - 5+ years
of electrical engineering experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or process plant environment. - Proven experience leading capital projects from concept through execution.
- Strong knowledge of industrial
power systems, automation, and controls
. - Proficient in AutoCAD, project management tools, and electrical design software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required.
