Job Description: Quality Controller (QC Chemist)

Position Overview

The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products meet defined technical specifications and quality standards. The role involves conducting analytical tests, maintaining documentation, coordinating with production, and ensuring compliance with QC procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Raw Material Testing

  2. Test all incoming raw materials as per approved specifications.

  3. Verify RM identity using the coded RM system.
  4. Approve or reject RM based on results and communicate to warehouse and production.

  5. In-Process Quality Control

  6. Conduct in-process tests:

Acid value, Hydroxyl value, Viscosity (CPS/Ford Cup), Solids, Gel time, Density, BDV, Dielectric properties (where applicable).

  • Provide real-time feedback to production for adjustments.
  • Maintain strict control over batch parameters and deviation management.

  • Finished Goods Testing

  • Test finished varnishes/resins for all required QC parameters before packing.

  • Issue quality clearance certificates.
  • Ensure every batch meets customer requirements and internal standards.

  • Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily QC logs, COAs, test reports, and calibration records.

  • Update ERP/QC sheets with results.
  • Ensure batch traceability by recording coded RM usage and process results.

  • Compliance & Lab Management

  • Follow all QC SOPs and safety protocols.

  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of all lab instruments (Brookfield viscometer, AV/HV titration setup, GC if applicable).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment.

  • Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with production for sampling, corrections, and batch approvals.

  • Coordinate with R&D for new product trials and formulation validations.
  • Interact with QA for audits, NCRs, and corrective actions.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. (Chemistry) or Diploma in Chemical.
  • 1–5 years QC experience in resin, paint, varnish, or polymer industry.
  • Strong testing knowledge (viscosity, AV/HV, solids, dielectric tests).

Preferred

  • Experience with insulating varnish and wire enamel testing.
  • Understanding of electrical testing (BDV, volume resistivity).
  • Familiarity with ERP/QC systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20, ₹50,426.91 per month
