Plating Shop Engineer Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Management: Develop, document, and maintain optimal operating parameters for various plating baths (e.g., Nickel, Chrome, Zinc, Electroless Nickel) and pre-treatment cycles.
- Chemical Analysis & Troubleshooting: Perform and interpret chemical analyses (titrations, Hull Cell tests, spectroscopy) to maintain bath concentrations and troubleshoot chemical imbalance or quality issues.
- Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement projects (CI) focused on defect reduction, material utilization, waste minimization, and throughput enhancement.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations pertaining to chemical handling, waste disposal, and air emissions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
- 3+ years of direct experience in an industrial electroplating, metal finishing, or wet chemistry environment.
- Strong understanding of fundamental electrochemical principles and wastewater treatment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
