Role & responsibilities
Production Operations:
* Supervise and control all production activities as per batch manufacturing records (BMR/BPR).
* Monitor and maintain process parameters during production to ensure consistent product quality.
* Plan daily production schedules based on orders and raw material availability.
* Ensure timely completion of batches and achieve production targets.
Quality & Compliance:
* Conduct in-process checks and record observations.
* Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety norms, and statutory regulations.
* Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) departments for sampling and
approvals.
* Maintain production logs, batch records, and process documentation accurately.
Inventory & Resource Management:
* Monitor raw material and packing material consumption.
* Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
* Coordinate with the stores department for material requirements and availability.
Equipment & Maintenance:
* Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of production equipment.
* Report breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs.
Safety & Environment:
* Ensure all safety protocols, and housekeeping standards are maintained.
* Comply with environmental and waste disposal norms.
Quality inspection and testing
Conduct inspections: Perform visual inspections and functional tests on both the powder coating process and the final product to ensure adherence to specifications.
Test critical parameters: Measure and record key coating properties, such as film thickness (DFT), adhesion, gloss, color, and cure.
Inspect materials: Check incoming raw materials like powder and pre-treatment chemicals to ensure they meet quality standards.
Use measurement tools: Utilize instruments like micrometers, calipers, and thickness gauges correctly.
Process monitoring and improvement
Monitor the process: Oversee all aspects of the powder coating process, including surface preparation, pre-treatment, application, and curing, to ensure consistency.
Calibrate equipment: Ensure that all quality control instruments are calibrated and used correctly.
Drive continuous improvement: Implement and lead initiatives to reduce defects, improve productivity, and lower costs.
Solve problems: Investigate coating defects (e.g., pinholes, runs, poor adhesion) and lead the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Documentation and compliance
Create and maintain records: Develop and maintain quality documentation, such as inspection reports, test records, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Ensure compliance: Guarantee compliance with relevant quality standards, such as ISO 9001 or other industry-specific standards.
Support audits: Assist with internal and external audits and customer inspections.
Collaboration and communication
Work with teams: Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and design teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Provide technical support: Offer technical support to relevant personnel and provide training as needed.
Communicate issues: Clearly communicate quality issues and findings to management and stakeholders.
