Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Chartered Accountant

Role Overview:
A strategic and experienced Chartered Accountant to join the leadership team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), a senior position responsible for managing the school’s entire financial ecosystem — including accounting, compliance, budgeting, fund management, and investment strategy .
The CFO will act as a key advisor to the board , ensuring long-term financial sustainability and overseeing responsible growth through strategic investments and cost-effective operations .
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI).
At least 5 years of post-qualification experience , with 2+ years in a senior finance or leadership role.
Proven experience in financial strategy, investment planning, and risk management.
Proficiency in Tally ERP, MS Excel, and other accounting/finance software.
Knowledge of statutory compliance, GST, TDS, PF/ESIC, audit procedures, and budgeting.
Prior experience in education, non-profits, or mission-driven organizations preferred.
Key Strengths and Skills
Regulatory Compliance & Audit
Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements (Income Tax, GST, Companies Act, etc.).
Ensure full compliance with all legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with auditors, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities.
Oversee payroll, PF, ESIC, TDS, GST returns and timely filings.
Financial Strategy & Management
Experience in budget allocation and fee structuring for academic institutions.
Present financial reports, insights, and projections to the Board of Trustees.
Advise leadership on capital allocation , major purchases, and infrastructure expansion.
Capable of projecting financial needs for infrastructure and expansion.
Lead preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Build and manage financial plans aligned with institutional goals.
Set up strong internal financial controls and SOPs .
Investment & Fund Management
Develop and implement a school investment strategy for reserves or endowments.
Identify low-risk and tax-efficient instruments (e.g., FDs, bonds, mutual funds) aligned with liquidity needs and long-term growth.
Monitor returns, market conditions, and risk exposure.
Leadership & Communication
Able to collaborate with school leadership on financial strategy.
Strong verbal and written communication for presenting reports to trustees or the board.
Process Optimization
Implementing financial controls, automation of routine tasks, and improving reporting systems.
Teaching/Training Aptitude (Optional, but a Bonus)
If desired, the CA could take occasional guest lectures or workshops for commerce/business students.
