Role Overview:

We are seeking a Content Executive Producer to join our Programming team. Reporting to the Head of Commissioning, the successful candidate will oversee editorial content across in-house and commissioned productions, shape our content strategy, and develop new content opportunities. They will manage strategic partnerships and contribute to long-term planning to meet evolving audience needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide editorial oversight for internal and external productions, ensuring adherence to Virgin Media Television’s values and quality standards.
• Source new content ideas, develop formats, and shape future strategy.
• Create engaging content from our studios that supports our public service remit.
• Ensure content delivery on time and within budget.
• Guide marketing efforts for key properties and ensure consistent messaging.
• Develop content for emerging platforms such as Virgin Media Play.
• Approve key AFC projects and collaborate with commercial teams for brand-aligned content.
• Oversee seasonal launches, content events, and industry workshops.
• Engage with studio teams to maximize content opportunities throughout the year.
• Collaborate with other content departments for editorial support.
• Manage budgets, production models, and oversee contracts in coordination with HR and Legal teams.
• Lead in-house production teams and content coordination/admin teams.

Skills & Experience:

• Exceptional editorial skills and understanding of Virgin Media Television’s audience and values.
• Proven track record in developing diverse content across genres and formats.
• Strategic planning and long-term vision implementation.
• Experience in the independent sector and commissioning production models.
• Leadership experience, stakeholder collaboration, and team building.
• Ability to adapt and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
• Strong production and budget management skills.
• Knowledge of Public Service Broadcasting obligations.
• Creative mindset with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience producing long-form broadcast content.
