Position Summary: Corporate Accountant – Career Advancement
Carolina Meadows, one of the nation's largest and most respected single-site retirement communities, is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Accounting, you'll oversee accounting functions and internal controls for Carolina Meadows and its related entities while working closely with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support monthly and quarterly financial closings, audits, and reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, general ledger activity, and fixed asset accounting
- Perform physician practice accounting and reporting
- Collaborate across departments to interpret financial results
- Serve as payroll backup and share oversight for AP, AR, and payroll functions
This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad accounting experience in a mission-driven, growth-focused organization—with the potential to advance to the Controller role in the future.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration
- 3+ years of accounting experience; payroll, AP, and billing/collections knowledge preferred
- Public accounting/audit and senior living or non-profit experience a plus
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- MatrixCare experience preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a focus on continuous improvement
