I am working with a leading Transportation Company seeking a highly experienced Functional Consultant with a strong background in finance and accounting, and hands-on experience with Dynamics GP and migration projects to Dynamics 365 Business Central. This remote contractor role involves working closely with finance stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to ensure successful ERP implementations, upgrades, and data transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead functional workshops to gather and analyze finance-related business requirements.
- Configure and customize Business Central modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Cash Management.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and collaborate with developers on customizations.
- Manage and execute migration projects from Dynamics GP to Business Central, including data mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
- Support data migration activities using RapidStart Services, configuration packages, and custom scripts.
- Provide training and documentation for finance users and stakeholders.
- Assist in testing, UAT, and go-live support for finance modules.
- Advise on best practices for financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and external vendors.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4+ years of experience as a Functional Consultant in Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV.
- 2+ years of experience with Dynamics GP, including financial module configuration and reporting.
- Proven track record of successful migrations from Dynamics GP to Business Central.
- Strong background in finance or accounting, ideally with a CPA or equivalent certification.
- Deep understanding of ERP finance processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with Power BI for financial dashboards and reporting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Platform, and Microsoft Common Data Model.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate.
- Experience with Copilot features in Business Central for finance automation.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric for advanced analytics and data modeling.
- Prior experience in industries such as manufacturing, distribution, or professional services is a plus.
