Role: Senior Mechanical / Mechatronics Designer – Fire Isolation Systems
Location: Near IISc Bengaluru | Full-Time | Deep-Tech R&D
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Mechanical / Mechatronics Designer to lead the design of intelligent fire isolation systems — advanced mechanisms that detect and automatically contain fires within a room, preventing spread through engineered sealing and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop fire-rated doors, frames, and sealing systems with high safety performance.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and control mechanisms for smart, autonomous response.
• Lead mechanical–electronic–control system integration for end-to-end functionality.
• Drive prototyping, simulation, validation, and DFM for manufacturable designs.
Qualifications
• M.Tech / Ph.D. in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 7+ years in mechanism or safety system design with real-world productization.
• Strong in CAD/CAE, kinematics, dynamics, and tolerance analysis.
• Must have seen at least one designed product enter mass production within the last 24 months.
Preferred Experience
• Fire-rated systems, safety automation, or adaptive mechanism design.
• Exposure to AI-driven control systems and certification processes (UL / EN / BS).
