Director of Financial Planning & Analysis
Location: Ann Arbor, MI (Remote) | Full-time | Salary: $150K–$200K
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Director of FP&A with strong experience in the mobility or automotive industry. This role will drive budgeting, forecasting, KPI tracking, management reporting, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions, resource allocation, and investment planning. The Director will collaborate with business leaders and the executive team and present financial insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close processes across business units.
- Partner with accounting on reporting, expense accruals, and variance analysis.
- Maintain rolling forecasts for headcount, non-headcount, and capital expenses.
- Analyze financial results, KPIs, and variances; provide actionable insights.
- Present financial performance, risks, and opportunities to leadership and investors.
- Guide resource allocation and prioritization in line with company strategy.
- Develop financial models, projections, and business case analyses.
- Mentor and develop finance team members.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor actions, and market dynamics affecting performance.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in finance/FP&A with leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Strong US GAAP knowledge and accounting/finance proficiency.
- Excellent analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills (Excel expertise required).
- Superior communication skills for both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Experience in high-growth, R&D-intensive, or automotive/mobility-focused companies.
- Ability to manage deadlines and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- MBA or planning/reporting system experience (Netsuite, Hyperion) is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Travel:
- Standard office conditions; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Minimal travel (1–10%).
