As we continue to grow, we are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Risk Management to lead our enterprise risk efforts and enhance our safety, compliance, and insurance programs. This position will be out of our Corporate Office in Audubon, PA.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety and risk management strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  • Manage claims processes, including oversight of in-house claims personnel and coordination with third-party administrators, legal counsel, and other claims-related stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, environmental, legal and financial risks.
  • Partner with divisional management, safety, legal, operations and HR teams to drive risk-reduction initiatives.
  • Manage the procurement and administration of all lines of insurance (e.g., general liability, auto, workers' compensation, environmental liability, etc.).
  • Partner with safety, legal and operations teams to monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT, OSHA, DEP, and state-specific waste management requirements.
  • Develop internal risk reporting systems and dashboards for executive leadership.
  • Manage risk audits, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses.
  • Prepare risk management budgets, reports and forecasts, and analyze trends to recommend cost-saving opportunities.
  • Serve as a key liaison with insurers, brokers, attorneys, and regulatory agencies.
  • Special projects and other job duties as assigned.

You Have/Are:

  • Bachelor's degree. Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or related field preferred (Master's or JD a plus).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in risk management or similar risk-related field, preferably within the waste management, transportation, or industrial services sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of safety/regulatory frameworks (DOT, OSHA, DEP, etc.), claims processes, and insurance industry.
  • Experience managing complex casualty claims.
  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and present risk trends and financial impact to executive leadership.
  • ARM, CPCU, or similar certification strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
