Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer (Maintenance) will be responsible for the operation, supervision, and upkeep of all electrical installations in accordance with standards and safety regulations. The role involves managing HT/LT systems, transformers, DG sets, fire alarm systems, and lighting installations, as well as handling preventive and breakdown maintenance to ensure uninterrupted services.
The engineer will also prepare estimates, BOQs, and measurement books as per specifications, monitor maintenance budgets, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and ensure compliance with BIS standards, IE rules, and Electrical Manual.
This position requires a technically strong and detail-oriented professional who can plan, execute, and document all electrical maintenance activities efficiently while ensuring safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in government or institutional buildings.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervision and execution of operation and maintenance of electrical installations including HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, lifts, fire alarm systems, and lighting systems.
- Preparation of electrical estimates, measurements, and BOQs as per specifications and standards.
- Execution of preventive and breakdown maintenance of all electrical systems in government buildings and complexes.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with Electrical Manual, BIS standards, and IE Rules.
- Maintenance of asset registers, preventive maintenance schedules, and breakdown registers.
- Preparation and verification of running bills, measurement books, and material consumption statements.
- Coordination with contractors, suppliers, and other CPWD wings for timely completion of works.
- Ensuring adherence to electrical safety regulations and maintaining proper documentation.
- Preparation of maintenance budgets and monitoring expenditure within sanctioned limits.
- Conducting inspection and testing of electrical installations as per statutory requirements.
- Planning and scheduling annual maintenance contracts (AMCs) for major systems and equipment.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering (recognized by AICTE).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in large-scale government projects (Preferred CPWD)
- Sound knowledge of CPWD specifications, DSR, and rate analysis.
- Proficient in electrical drawings, estimation, and site supervision.
- Capable of handling multiple projects and maintenance activities independently.
