Position Overview
CIS is seeking an Entry-Level Backend Developer to join our Data Conversions team. This role focuses on building, optimizing, and automating ETL processes that migrate mission-critical data between systems. The ideal candidate is a technically curious problem solver who enjoys working with structured data, backend logic, and emerging AI-driven tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, maintain, and enhance ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for customer data migrations.
· Write and optimize backend code in C# (Entity Framework Core) to support conversion pipelines.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Systems, Implementation, and QA) to validate data and ensure successful conversions.
· Leverage Generative AI tools to automate routine development and testing tasks.
· Troubleshoot data and performance issues to improve conversion quality and speed.
· Document technical processes and participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies.
· Learn CIS's suite of applications and develop a deep understanding of their data structures and interfaces.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· Solid understanding of programming fundamentals (object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures).
· Experience or coursework with .NET, C#, or Entity Framework Core.
· Understanding of SQL query development and optimization.
· Exposure to ETL concepts.
· Interest in Generative AI and its use in software development workflows.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
· Hands-on experience with data transformation, migration, or integration projects.
· Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
· Experience with REST APIs or backend service development.
· Understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD concepts.
