Role Overview:
A Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of an organization to ensure its long-term financial health and strategic success. This role involves managing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis to support decision-making at all levels of the organization. The Finance Manager also ensures compliance with financial regulations, optimizes resource allocation, and helps guide strategic planning.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Prepare short- and long-term financial plans aligned with business goals.
- Develop and manage annual budgets
- Monitor spending to ensure alignment with financial plans.
- Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Produce timely and accurate financial statements (e.g., P&L, balance sheet).
- Analyze financial data to support strategic decisions.
- Report financial performance to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure the company has sufficient liquidity to meet obligations.
- Oversee cash inflows/outflows and working capital.
- Optimize treasury functions and banking relationships.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and risks.
- Manage capital structure and funding sources (e.g., debt, equity).
- Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.
- Implement internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.
- Support business planning with financial insights.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategy.
- Lead and mentor finance team members.
- Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and major expenditures.
Skills Required
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP) and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or Tally.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools.
- Typically 510 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.
