Job Summary:

The Finance Manager will oversee the company's end-to-end finance and accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Books of Accounts finalisation. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency in a fast-growing IT services environment (200–500 employees).

The incumbent will be hands-on in managing financial transactions, guiding the accounting team, ensuring adherence to timelines, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and transparency across all finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Receivable (AR) Management

  • Manage the full AR cycle — from client invoicing and credit control to collections and reporting.
  • Ensure invoices are raised accurately as per contracts, milestones, and delivery terms.
  • Regularly monitor outstanding receivables, follow up with clients for timely payment, and minimize DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
  • Prepare AR aging reports and coordinate with sales and delivery teams to resolve disputes.
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards.

2. Accounts Payable (AP) Management

  • Oversee vendor invoice processing, approvals, and timely disbursements.
  • Maintain accuracy in vendor records, payment terms, and statutory compliance (GST/TDS).
  • Reconcile vendor accounts periodically and manage relationships with key suppliers.
  • Optimize payment cycles and ensure DPO (Days Payables Outstanding) aligns with cash flow objectives.

3. Books of Accounts & Reconciliation

  • Supervise daily accounting activities and ensure daily accurate posting of all transactions.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, ledgers, inter-company accounts, and all other balance sheet items.
  • Ensure financial data integrity and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closures.
  • Support audit activities (statutory, internal, and tax audits) by providing required schedules and reconciliations.

4. Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a finance team (3–4 members) handling AR, AP, and general accounting.
  • Review team outputs regularly to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and adherence to internal controls.
  • Identify training needs, streamline workflows, and promote best accounting practices.
  • Implement process improvements and automation to enhance team productivity.

5. Compliance, Controls & Reporting

  • Ensure timely filing of all statutory returns (GST, TDS, PF, PT, etc.) and ensure coordination with consultants.
  • Feed MIS related reports to MIS Team – P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis.
  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross function teams inside & outside the organisation.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • AR Collection Efficiency:
    DSO maintained within agreed company targets.
  • AP Timeliness:
    100% vendor payments within due dates and correct statutory deductions.
  • Reconciliation Accuracy:
    Zero unreconciled items in bank and ledger accounts at month-end.
  • Compliance Adherence:
    100% on-time statutory filings (GST, TDS, etc.).
  • Team Productivity:
    Timely completion of monthly financial closure within 3–5 working days.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of
    accounting principles, AR/AP cycles, and financial finalisation
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    Indian taxation laws
    (GST, TDS, Income Tax) and
    Companies Act (Basic)
    .
  • Proficiency in
    ERP/accounting software
    (e.g., Tally ERP, Zoho Books) (Others will be add on).
  • Advanced skills in
    Excel
    and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced IT environment and meet multiple deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:
    B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter) preferred.
  • Experience:
    10–12 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or team-lead role.
  • Industry:
    Experience in
    IT / ITES / software services
    or a similar project-based business is highly desirable.
