We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller (St. Augustine, Florida) with a strong background in the construction industry to lead our financial operations and strategy. This key leadership role will oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while partnering with executive leadership to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, job cost accounting, A/R, A/P, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support project planning and corporate goals.
  • Monitor and analyze project financial performance, including job costing, WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules, and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and all applicable regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and operations teams to align financial goals with field execution.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, insurance providers, and bonding agents.
  • Implement financial systems improvements and best practices to increase efficiency and transparency.
  • Mentor and lead the accounting team, fostering professional development and accountability.
