Position: General Ledger Accountant
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining general ledger entries and reconciling financial statements. You will ensure that ledger data is accurate and precise within a Sox and US GAAP environment. You will work within a large organization, interacting with diverse business partners across departments and countries. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn, implement best practices, and standardize common GL tasks. It is ideal for an ambitious professional eager to learn and progress.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reports.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and variance analyses.
- Support timely delivery of financial and tax reporting activities, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, Balance Sheet reconciliations, Financial Statements review, IFRS reporting, consolidation, GST/VAT, and Corporate Tax returns.
- Prepare periodic financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and commentaries.
- Collaborate with Shared Services and Finance teams to oversee Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, capital expenses, and other financial activities.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS policies.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, provide supporting documentation, and facilitate audits.
- Review policies and procedures, recommend improvements, and drive issue resolution.
- Test, design, and implement new financial systems or tools.
- Participate in finance system enhancement projects and support ad hoc activities.
Position Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in General Accounting.
- Experience with US GAAP and IFRS is advantageous; regional exposure is a plus.
- Prior Big 4 experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of OneStream, revenue recognition, inventory management, SOX/internal controls is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, especially MS Office and ERP systems like Oracle & SAP.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
