The Role

We are seeking a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Administrator with advanced expertise to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their GCP expertise while working in a collaborative and innovative cloud environment .

You will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our GCP environment to ensure security, performance, and cost-efficiency. This role requires hands-on experience with GCP services, automation, and troubleshooting to support our cloud-based applications and workloads.

What you’ll do

• Manage and maintain Google Cloud infrastructure, including Compute Engine, IAM, Cloud Storage, VPC, and networking.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and cost to optimize cloud resources.
• Implement and enforce security policies for identity and access management (IAM), firewall rules, and compliance requirements.
• Automate operational tasks using Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) would be a plus.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud service issues and provide support to development teams.
• Implement and maintain GCP monitoring and logging solutions.
• Assist in GCP cost management and budget optimization strategies.
• Work closely with DevOps, security, and development teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Keep up-to-date with GCP best practices and new services to improve operational efficiency.
• Support disaster recovery and backup strategies within GCP.
• Monitor system health and security alerts, responding proactively to incidents and performance issues.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members on GCP best practices and troubleshooting.

Profile and Skills

• 5+ years of experience managing Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Hands-on experience with Compute Engine, VPC networking, IAM, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
• Knowledge of cloud automation tools like Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or Ansible.
• Experience with Linux and Windows server administration in a cloud environment.
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts (VPC, subnets, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, VPNs).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to cloud networking, performance, and security.
• Deep understanding of security best practices, compliance standards, and risk management in cloud environments.
• Understanding of GCP security best practices, including IAM, service accounts, and firewall configurations.
• Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes, GKE, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Fluency in written and spoken business English is required.

Additional Skills

• GCP certification (e.g., Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect).
• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Exposure to Cloud Identity, security auditing, and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of SIEM solutions, such as Microsoft Sentinel or similar, for cloud security monitoring.
