PRIME FUNCTION
To lead and oversee the end-to-end supply chain operations of the organization, ensuring optimal efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives. This includes strategic planning, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning to achieve seamless material flow and operational excellence.
JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
2. Lead and manage the supply chain team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to enhance team performance and professional development.
3. Oversee procurement activities, ensuring the selection of suppliers that meet quality standards, cost-effectiveness, and delivery timelines.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and finance, to align supply chain goals with overall business objectives.
5. Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
6. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to optimize pricing and service levels.
7. Manage inventory levels to minimize costs while ensuring adequate supply to meet customer demand.
8. Implement best practices in logistics and distribution to enhance service quality and reduce lead times.
9. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the supply chain process.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in supply chain management, integrating new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
11. Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance and strategic initiatives to senior management and stakeholders.
12. Lead risk management efforts within the supply chain, identifying potential disruptions and developing contingency plans to mitigate impact.
13. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain team, encouraging innovative solutions to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 18 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with supply chain analytics tools.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with supply chain management software and technologies.
Prior experience in PPC and Procurement of Steel and Aluminium business and procurement, Stores function (procurement of packing materials, oils, coolants, consumables). material planning, logistics management, inventory management, lean concepts, customer coordination and interactions.

AUTHORITY
- Approve supplier selection, contracts, and procurement orders within approved budgets.
- Recommend and implement changes to supply chain policies and procedures.
- Authorize logistics and inventory decisions to ensure uninterrupted production and delivery.
- Represent the supply chain function in cross-departmental and management meetings.
- Make strategic recommendations on resource allocation, vendor management, and system upgrades.
JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree (MBA / PGDM) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 18 years of overall experience in Supply Chain Management.
- At least 10 years in a senior leadership role handling procurement, logistics, and material planning.
- Prior experience in the steel and aluminium industry, including PPC, procurement, stores, and logistics functions.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP/SAP-based supply chain management systems.
- Strong knowledge of material planning, inventory control, and lean concepts.
- Experience in vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and logistics optimization.
