Job description & requirements

About Akora

Akora is a property management company offering a curated selection of serviced apartments in the heart of Madrid. Our portfolio ranges from stylish studios to spacious multi-bedroom apartments designed for guests staying on extended stays. We focus on comfort, functionality, and delivering a consistently high-quality living experience.

The Role

We are looking for a creative and practical Interior Designer to lead the design and presentation of our apartments. You will shape the look and feel of each space, ensure consistency across the portfolio, and help document and evolve Akora’s design standards.

You will work closely with our Project Coordinator, who manages procurement, contractor coordination, and scheduling. Your focus is on design, layout, styling, and ensuring the final presentation is guest-ready, including preparing for photography.

What You’ll Do

Interior Design & Apartment Layout

  • Visit and measure new apartments and draft clear layout/floor plan proposals
  • Design interiors that balance style, comfort, durability, and operational practicality
  • Select furniture, lighting, textiles, décor, artwork, and essential household items
  • Adapt concepts to each unique space while maintaining a consistent design identity across the portfolio

Develop Akora’s Design Standards

  • Create and maintain a documented design playbook (color palettes, FF&E guidelines, sourcing frameworks)
  • Recommend scalable and repeatable furnishing packages
  • Continuously refine standards based on performance, cost, and guest feedback

Styling & Final Apartment Readiness

  • Ensure that the final design intent is delivered accurately in the apartment
  • Style and stage apartments for final presentation and guest comfort
  • Prepare spaces for professional photography and handover to the operations team
  • Support the setup of 4+ apartments per month (50–100+ apartments per year)

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in interior design, residential styling, hospitality fit-out, or similar
  • Strong spatial planning and materials/finishes understanding
  • Ability to balance creativity with practicality and cost-awareness
  • Highly organized, able to handle multiple projects at once
  • Fluent in Spanish; professional English preferred
  • Based in Madrid

Why Join Us?

  • Your design work comes to life weekly, not yearly
  • Play a central role in defining and evolving Akora’s design identity
  • Collaborative, agile environment with creative ownership
  • Opportunity to shape 50–100+ apartments each year
