Job Description
IT Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for analyzing complex project efforts and recommending solutions to align individual business functions with organizational goals. This role requires thorough understanding of the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and recommends solutions to improve general business processes and planning. This position can collaborate with one or several business units or functions.

Responsibilities
IT Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business using relationship building skills to build relationships, process analysis skills to assess business processes, determine technical and operational requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and updates to business and IT leaders and stakeholders. The BA role will be to engage with business leaders and caregivers to understand requested projects and changes to process, products, services, software and hardware can improve patient outcomes, caregiver experiences and operational efficiencies, as well as add value to the enterprise. BAs must be able to assess project requests and align them against the existing portfolio. They must articulate those ideas but also balance them against what is technologically feasible and financially and functionally reasonable.

  • Facilitates IT PMO Project Request (PR) engagements and discussions around new requests.
  • Manages the IT PMO Project Pipeline to ensure proper development and assignment.
  • Collaborates with IT Resource stakeholders to develop appropriate resource plans and capacity options.
  • Coach healthcare leaders on how to communicate to IT what they need to improve business performance.
  • Review requirements with change management and business transformation teams.
  • Develop a "healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio" with the project, program or portfolio management organization (PMO).
  • Communicate with business leadership to evaluate initiatives and proposals to see how they align with established roadmaps and business priorities.
  • Identify business value when developing ideas with a focus on digital awareness, risk assessment, business continuity and business capability requirements.
  • Build and manage a relationship team to oversee "convergence and strategic partnering" across the organization, including with caregivers and senior leadership.
  • Engage with project and program leads from each business unit to ensure they understand the objectives for joint strategic efforts.
  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the caregiver experience
  • Assess new business project requests by engaging business stakeholders and sponsors to verify and validate the requested project.
  • Manage project intake processes to determine project scope, portfolio assignment and overall business case using ServiceNow PPM.
  • Ensure alignment of project expectations and outcomes and aligns those activities with the technology owners.
  • Analyze business and technology processes, functions, and procedures to determine most effective business system software to meet the needs of the business requestor and the enterprise.
  • Analyze business operations with the business requestor to understand strengths and weaknesses in order to determine opportunities to improve processes, procedures and project outcomes.
  • Assist in business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Develop initial resource plans to support project deliverables and outcomes.
  • Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business departments, technology owners and/or vendor partners from initial project requirements to final implementation.
  • Work with business/technology sponsors and stakeholders within the business function to align technology solutions within business strategies and direction.
  • Assist the business and technology stakeholders with the development of the project scope/charter.
  • Assist IT Project Managers in development of project plans and use associated project planning tools as needed.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments to determine operational efficiency and technical viability of solutions to business challenges.
  • Collaborate with technology leadership in key solution design and operational support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Reports to assigned IT PMO Director.

This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects/deadlines at one time.

Qualifications
Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in technology, healthcare or business management
  • Preference given for one of the following certifications: PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PBA), IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • 10 years of IT and/or Healthcare experience
  • 5 Years of IT Business Analyst and/or IT Project Management experience
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and leadership capabilities
