Title: Marketing & Communications Executive

Position Overview

The Marketing Executive is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, increase bookings, and support overall business objectives. This role involves digital and traditional marketing, content creation, social media management, campaign coordination, and partnerships. You will play a critical role in shaping how Rydges Fortitude Valley is perceived in the competitive hospitality market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing Strategy & Execution
    • Assist in developing and implementing annual and quarterly marketing plans aligned with hotel business goals.
    • Support the rollout of national brand campaigns and tailor them to local market needs.
    • Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to identify and act on promotional opportunities.
  • Digital Marketing & Website Management
    • Manage and optimise the hotel's presence on the Rydges website, OTAs, Google My Business, and third-party directories.
    • Implement SEO strategies and monitor website performance metrics.
    • Coordinate with corporate digital teams on PPC, retargeting, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Social Media & Content Creation
    • Plan and manage content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok).
    • Create engaging copy, photography, and video content showcasing the hotel, local attractions, events, and guest experiences.
    • Monitor social engagement and respond to guest interactions in line with brand tone.
  • Branding & Design
    • Ensure all marketing materials adhere to brand guidelines.
    • Liaise with graphic designers or use in-house tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) to produce brochures, flyers, signage, and menus.
  • Partnerships & PR
    • Develop relationships with local influencers, media outlets, tourism bodies, and event organizers.
    • Coordinate familiarisation visits, media stays, and press release distribution.
    • Support cross-promotions with local businesses, including restaurants, event venues, and tour operators.
  • Reporting & Analytics
    • Track and report on the performance of campaigns, social media, and other marketing activities.
    • Provide monthly reports with insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
What we need from you
  • Graduate/Bachelor’s degree in PR, Marketing, or Communications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, EDM, and content management.
  • Training in design software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.
  • Marketing experience within the hotel, travel, F&B, or retail industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, innovation process, and strategic planning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels and insights.
