Materials/Engineering Analyst

This hybrid role supports multiple engineering functions across Global Powertrain, Transmission & Driveline Engineering, and Chassis Brakes, Steering, Suspension, and Wheels, Tires, & Jacks. The candidate will lead and coordinate engineering and business office projects, manage budgets and forecasting tools, and support the product development process from concept through launch. Responsibilities include managing prototype material orders, supporting engineering deliverables, and ensuring alignment with financial and organizational goals.

Skills Required:

1. Materials Management – Coordinate/plan part and prototype material orders using client’s internal systems (e.g., GPIRS, Aurora, EzBudget) managing (transmissions/eDrive Units) build schedules to meet customer requirements. The role supports inventory accuracy and monthly forecasts from vehicle programs and external prototype builds.

2. Project Management – Serve as the functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for materials ordering tools, organizational budget, and forecasting. Handle day to day maintenance working with the Powertrain Business Office (PTBO), Engineering, VEV, and Planning teams to ensure data accuracy and transparency. Provide executive level status reports as required. Work directly with Finance, Purchasing and Suppliers on the status of parts during the quoting. Maintain aligned processes across powertrain organizations and adhere to client policy and procedures. Identify inefficiencies and recommend systems or reporting improvements and communicate risk and opportunities at executive level

3. Analyst - Business Analysis : Analyze trends in forecasts and inventory performance on a monthly basis. Supports data-driven by analyzing material flow, cost trends, and prototype inventory Provide material financial analysis to Transmission and Driveline Engineering (TDE).

4. Material Planning – (similar to Materials Management) forecasting prototype material and plan based on forward model prototype programs, unit programs and external builds

Project Management & Coordination

· Lead and support business office and engineering initiatives across Powertrain (Trans/Driveline) and Chassis Systems engineering departments.

· Develop, maintain, and execute project plans, schedules, and status reports to ensure timely delivery of engineering and financial objectives.

· Coordinate part and prototype material orders using one or more internal systems (e.g., GPIRS, Aurora, EZ Budget).

· Support validation planning and ensure test/build timing alignment by coordinating with engineers, suppliers, and test facilities.

· Track and verify testing documentation and sign-off packages across all development phases. Budgeting & Financial Analysis

· Provide financial analysis, track materials budgets, and support forecasting activities.

· Maintain EZ Budget system and serve as SME for material ordering tools.

· Monitor status to budget for both material and purchased services; reconcile actuals, explain variances, and update forecasts.

· Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting including MRD and executive-level status updates.

· Process Purchased Service requests and maintain related tracking for compliance and transparency.

· Collaborate with Finance, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to manage contracts, JV agreements, ICBAs, and cross-functional transfers.

Experience Required:

· Strong leadership and organizational skills

· Proven project management abilities

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in cross-functional and remote teams

· Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized

· Understanding of product development lifecycle (concept to launch)

· Familiarity with client engineering and financial tools (e.g., GPIRS, Aurora, EZ Budget)

Experience Preferred:

· Knowledge of client’s financial systems and prototype part ordering tools

· PMA Certification or formal project management training

· Experience with BOM creation and maintenance

· Advanced data analysis or financial modeling capabilities

Education Required:

· Bachelor's Degree

Education Preferred:

· Master's Degree
