Job Overview :
Key Responsibilities :
- Vendor Management : Identify and evaluate new suppliers, negotiate terms and contracts, and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products at competitive prices.
- Procurement Planning : Develop and manage procurement plans for raw materials, mechanical components, and machinery, ensuring that the production schedules are met efficiently.
- Technical Specifications : Collaborate with the design and production teams to understand technical specifications and quality standards required for mechanical components and raw materials.
- Cost Control & Budgeting : Analyze cost structures and ensure the company adheres to budgeted procurement costs while seeking opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Quality Control : Ensure that all purchased materials and components meet industry standards and internal quality control measures. Liaise with the quality control department to address any discrepancies.
- Inventory Management : Work closely with the inventory team to maintain optimal stock levels of materials, reduce excess inventory, and prevent shortages.
- Supply Chain Coordination : Monitor supply chain performance and work with logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery and manage any delays or disruptions in the procurement process.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain detailed records of procurement transactions, supplier agreements, and product specifications. Provide regular procurement reports to senior management.
Key Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience of 2-4 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management , preferably in the metal sheet or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and product specifications.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build long-term relationships with suppliers.
- Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of quality control standards and techniques.
Experience in the metal sheet industry or related manufacturing fields.
Certifications in procurement or supply chain management.
Knowledge of international sourcing and import/export processes.
