Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary:
We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain mechanical systems and components. You'll work on projects involving equipment, machinery, HVAC, piping, and fabrication, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with standards. Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, and troubleshooting is essential, with added focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
Design mechanical components, systems, and assemblies using CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo)
Develop and optimize layouts for machinery, piping, HVAC, and fabrication works
Conduct simulations (FEA, CFD) for stress, thermal, and flow analysis where applicable
Project Execution & Maintenance:
Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, cranes, etc.)
Troubleshoot mechanical failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for machinery
Manufacturing & Fabrication Support:
Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure components meet design specs and quality standards
Improve manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety
Conduct inspections and tests (pressure tests, alignment checks, vibration analysis) on equipment
Safety, Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with mechanical safety standards (IS codes, ASME, ISO 9001), environmental regulations, and local statutory norms
Maintain technical documentation (drawings, manuals, BOMs, test reports)
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety improvements in operations
Energy Efficiency & Sustainability:
Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency in mechanical systems (e.g., optimize HVAC, compressed air systems)
Support implementation of green technologies like waste heat recovery, energy-efficient motors, and sustainable materials
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, manufacturing, maintenance, or project execution
Experience in industries like manufacturing, construction, HVAC, automotive, or energy is a plus
Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation tools (ANSYS, CFD for specific applications)
Knowledge of mechanical systems (piping, HVAC, pneumatics, hydraulics), fabrication processes, and equipment maintenance
Familiarity with Indian standards (IS codes), ASME, ISO, and local safety regulations
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications:
Lean Six Sigma, energy auditor certifications (BEE in India), or certifications in specific tools (SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS)
Industry-specific Experience:
Experience in manufacturing (CNC machining, welding, assembly lines), construction, or energy-efficient systems (HVAC optimization, waste heat recovery)
Familiarity with Indian factory acts, safety norms (like DGMS for heavy equipment), and environmental compliance
Software Skills:
MS Project or Primavera for project management
Familiarity with CMMS (like SAP PM, Maximo) for maintenance management
