About the Role : Presales Consultant
As a Senior Presales Consultant specializing in Databases and Cloud, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between client technical needs and the organization’s offerings. You will engage early in the sales cycle to design, demonstrate, and propose database and cloud-based solutions, influencing technical decisions and helping to drive revenue. You’ll act both as a technical expert and trusted advisor to clients, working closely with internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Product, Delivery).
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with sales teams and clients during early discovery phases—understand business requirements, technical landscape, challenges, constraints.
- Architect and design database and cloud solutions that meet client needs—such as data storage, data processing (batch/streaming), analytics, security, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery.
- Lead Proof-of-Concepts (PoC), pilot projects—infrastructure setup, measurement, evaluation, and make recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, and workshops for a variety of audiences (technical, business, C-level).
- Respond to RFPs / RFIs / RFQs—write technical proposals, create solution artefacts (architecture diagrams, sizing & cost estimates, migration strategies).
- Collaborate with Product / Engineering / Delivery teams to align solution proposals with product capabilities and roadmap; provide feedback on customer needs.
- Work towards annual targets (revenue / engagement / win rates / pipeline) and strive to meet or exceed incentive criteria.
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience: Around 8 years in the IT industry, with significant exposure (3‑5 years or more) in presales / solution consulting roles in database and cloud domains.
