Role Overview:
The Product Manager will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and introducing new products from global markets into the companys portfolio. This role requires a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and supplier capabilities. The Product Manager will work closely with the Purchase and Sales teams to design and execute go-to-market strategies that maximize commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product & Market Research:
- Continuously scan global markets for new product opportunities in line with companys growth strategy.
- Track emerging industry trends, competitor product launches, regulatory developments, and technological advancements.
- Conduct detailed product feasibility studies, including market sizing, cost competitiveness, and regulatory compliance.
2. Supplier Identification & Management:
- Identify and qualify potential suppliers globally; evaluate them for quality, reliability, and pricing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and manufacturers.
- Negotiate commercial terms, ensuring long-term supply security and competitive pricing.
3. Go-to-Market Strategy:
- Collaborate with Purchase and Sales teams to build business cases for new product introductions.
- Develop launch plans, including pricing strategy, positioning, and promotional support.
- Work with regulatory/compliance teams to ensure all product approvals and certifications are in place before launch.
- Track product performance post-launch and recommend course corrections.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with the Purchase team on sourcing strategy and procurement planning.
- Support the Sales team with product knowledge, training, and marketing collateral.
- Partner with Finance to model product profitability and ROI.
- Liaise with Logistics/Warehouse teams to ensure smooth supply chain readiness.
5. Monitoring & Reporting:
- Maintain a product pipeline tracker with status of evaluation, approval, and launch timelines.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on pipeline progress, risks, and market intelligence.
- Recommend discontinuation of underperforming products where relevant.Role & responsibilities
